
School Construction and Rehabilitation Program (SCRP)
In order to provide access to better learning
opportunities to students enrolled in Public Schools, the School
Education Department (SED) is committed to work on The Punjab
School Construction and Rehabilitation Program. Components that
fall under this umbrella project are; Additional Classroom
Construction, Model Schools, Rehabilitation and Revitalization
of Science and IT labs and libraries.
The program is aimed at constructing 2,000 additional classrooms
in 12 districts of the province. The Model Schools project is
under its phase of implementation in 11 districts of Punjab. The
aim is to renovate existing buildings so that they are upgraded
and transformed into fully functional schools, equipped with the
modern learning facilities. In addition to this, 1,000 science
and IT labs are being restored across 17 districts. Under this
component, training to relevant staff will also be provided so
that smooth functioning maybe ensured.
