The Programme Monitoring and Implementation Unit, Punjab Education Sector Reform Programme (PMIU-PESRP) functions as the think tank and project implementation arm of the School Education Department, Government of the Punjab. Mandated to strengthen and transform the education landscape, PMIU-PESRP works to ensure equitable, inclusive, and quality education across the province. Through a robust monitoring and data-driven ecosystem, the Unit drives sustained reform by supporting policymakers and stakeholders with timely insights and scalable solutions. By fostering strong partnerships with development partners, including the World Bank, Global Partnership for Education, UNICEF, Asian Development Bank and JICA, PMIU-PESRP enables high-impact interventions focused on access, quality, and governance in education.
As the primary data hub for the School Education Department, PMIU-PESRP collects, compiles, and analyzes large-scale datasets. PMIU-PESRP’s strategic focus areas include strengthening Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), enhancing foundational learning, improving classroom infrastructure, and overall learning outcomes through sustainable and system-wide reforms in Punjab.
