Afternoon School Program (ASP)
The Afternoon School Program (ASP) is an initiative of the School Education Department, Government of the Punjab, designed to expand access to post-primary education by running middle and high school classes in existing school buildings during the afternoon shift. By utilizing available infrastructure and teachers, the program has helped bridge the gap in areas without nearby middle or high schools, particularly benefiting girls and underserved communities. ASP strengthens the transition from primary to middle grades, reduces dropout after Grade 5, and provides a cost-effective pathway for previously out-of-school and at-risk children to continue their education.
